J-hope and V react to Drake’s BTS lyric on new album amid fans’ mixed response

The lyric appears on the track ‘Make Them Cry’ from Drake’s newly released album ‘ICEMAN’

Drake’s reference to BTS on his new album ICEMAN has triggered widespread discussion online, with fans divided over the meaning of the lyric and BTS members V and j-hope now reacting publicly.

The lyric appears on the track “Make Them Cry”, where Drake raps, “I’m feeling like BTS ‘cause it took the whole career for me to be so discovered.”

The line quickly circulated across social media after the album’s release on May 15, prompting debate among listeners about whether the comparison was complimentary or dismissive.

According to fan reactions shared online and reported across pop culture coverage, some users interpreted the lyric as downplaying BTS’ global success, while others argued it reflects the long process of achieving international recognition in the music industry.

As discussions intensified, BTS members V and j-hope appeared to respond on social media.

V posted a video on Instagram showing him and j-hope casually dancing to the track before reacting to the moment Drake’s mention appears. In the clip, both pause, look directly at the camera, and then at each other with taken aback expressions.

V captioned the post with “?” and tagged Drake using @champagnepapi.

The reaction further fuelled speculation among fans, with many interpreting the clip as a light-hearted response, while others viewed it as a subtle acknowledgement of the lyric’s viral attention.

The discussion adds to ongoing attention surrounding Drake’s ICEMAN rollout, which has already generated debate across multiple tracks and references since its release.
