Tributes paid to writer Intizar Hussain



ISLAMABAD  –  Renowned Urdu writer Intizar Hussain was remembered on his 10th death anniversary, where literary figures and admirers paid rich tribute to his life and enduring contributions to Urdu literature, highlighting his unique narrative style and lasting influence. Born in Bulandshahr, British India, in 1925, Intizar Hussain rose to prominence through his novels, short stories, poetry and nonfiction, earning wide recognition for his distinctive literary voice, media channels reported.  He was honoured with several national and international awards, including the Sitara-i-Imtiaz from the Government of Pakistan and France’s Officer of the Order of Arts and Letters. His notable works include Basti, Khali Pinjra, Hindustan Se Aakhri Khat, Agay Samander Hai, Shehr-e-Afsos, Janam Kahanian, and Wo Jo Kho Gaye. Intizar Hussain passed away in Lahore on this day in 2016, leaving behind a lasting legacy in Urdu literature.
