DPM for transparent mechanisms to expand global jobs for Pakistani health professionals

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister (DPM/FM), Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, on Thursday emphasised the need for transparent, well-coordinated mechanisms to expand international opportunities for Pakistani health professionals and also called for accelerating efforts towards local vaccine manufacturing and licensing.

He was chairing a committee meeting to review key health sector initiatives, with a focus on engaging Pakistani health professionals abroad and on joint vaccine production, a DPM’s Office news release said.

The deputy prime minister described the initiatives as vital to showcasing the expertise of Pakistan’s healthcare professionals.

The meeting examined proposals to facilitate the recruitment of Pakistani medical practitioners, particularly dentists, in international health institutions outside Pakistan. The participants also evaluated the technical and regulatory aspects of exploring domestic vaccine production and technology transfer in collaboration with friendly countries.

The meeting was attended by the Minister for National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM) Tariq Bajwa, the Secretary Health, and the President of the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC), along with senior officials from the concerned ministries.
