Islamabad: The federal government has announced a significant increase in petroleum product prices, raising both petrol and high-speed diesel by PKR 55 per litre, effective immediately from March 8.

Following the latest revision, the new price of petrol has reached PKR 321 per litre, while the price of high-speed diesel has been set at PKR 335 per litre.

The sharp increase is expected to put additional pressure on inflation and transportation costs across the country, as diesel is widely used in the agriculture and logistics sectors, while petrol directly impacts private transport and ride-hailing services.
