Sidemen respond after KSI steps back from YouTube collective after 12 years

Sidemen respond after KSI steps away from group following emotional announcement ending decade-long runs

The Sidemen have issued an official statement after KSI confirmed that he is stepping away from the popular YouTube group following more than a decade as a member.

The collective, which includes Miniminter (Simon Minter), Zerkaa (Joshua Bradley), TBJZL (Tobi Brown), Behzinga (Ethan Payne), Vikkstar123 (Vikram Barn), W2S (Harry Lewis), and KSI (JJ), has been one of the most influential creator groups on YouTube for over 10 years. Together, they have built a global audience through challenge videos, collaborations with high-profile personalities such as MrBeast and Erling Haaland, and their annual charity football matches, which have raised millions.

Following KSI’s announcement that he would no longer appear in Sidemen videos, the group responded with a statement shared on social media. They said they were “sad to share the news” of his decision and confirmed that his departure came as a surprise to the rest of the members.

The Sidemen added that they remain committed to continuing their content, events, and brand projects despite the change in lineup. They also reassured fans that upcoming plans are still moving forward and that the group’s creative output will not slow down.

KSI, whose real name is Olajide Olatunji, posted an emotional video confirming his exit, saying it was one of the hardest decisions of his career. He explained that after years of balancing multiple projects, he felt unable to give the group the level of attention it deserved.

He stressed that there was no conflict behind the decision, describing it as a personal choice driven by his desire to focus on other areas of his life.

The announcement marks a major shift for the Sidemen, who have remained one of YouTube’s most successful creator collectives since forming in 2013.
