The Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control Department of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has issued a fresh update regarding pending petrol subsidy payments for vehicle owners, including motorcyclists and transport operators who have not yet received funds under the scheme.

According to an official statement shared on social media, subsidy payments for eligible vehicles are being processed through the State Bank of Pakistan for categories including trailers, buses, delivery vans, loaders, trucks, and minibuses.

The department clarified that strict eligibility conditions apply for receiving the subsidy. These include that the vehicle must be registered in the owner’s name, linked to their CNIC, and supported by a valid route permit issued under the same identity. In addition, the owner must maintain a bank account registered under the same CNIC and name.

Officials said several applications were returned by the central bank despite meeting vehicle and permit requirements, primarily due to missing or mismatched banking details.

The Director General of Excise has urged eligible applicants who have not yet opened bank accounts to do so immediately to avoid further delays in payment processing.

Authorities noted that unresolved banking requirements remain one of the key reasons behind delays in subsidy disbursement, affecting transporters and other beneficiaries awaiting financial relief.

The update comes as provincial governments continue fuel support initiatives for commuters, while other relief programs, including motorcycle fuel subsidies, are also being expanded in different regions.
