International Museum Day observed at Taxila Museum

WAH CANTT  –  The International Museum Day (IMD) on Monday was observed at the Taxila Museum  along with the rest of the country, with free entry and special activities organized for the visitors. The museum opened its doors free of charge, allowing the visitors to explore its extensive collection of artifacts and exhibits without an admission fee. The complimentary guided tours were also arranged, during which the experts shared historical insights and background stories about the exhibits. A photo sketching competition was held as part of the celebrations, attracting a large number of students who painted various sections of the museum building on canvas. Assistant Commissioner Taxila, Maria Javaid, the chief guest at the event, distributed prizes among the students whose artwork secured top positions. Speaking on the occasion, Asim Dogar said this year’s International Museum Day was being observed under the theme, “Museums Uniting a Divided World.” He said the celebrations aimed to raise awareness about the role of museums in preserving cultural heritage and to encourage greater public engagement with local museums.
