Balochistan Moves to Set Up Modern Safe City Authority

The Balochistan government has approved the development of a modern Safe City Authority aimed at improving public safety and urban management through technology. This project will introduce advanced surveillance systems in major cities to support law enforcement, traffic control and emergency services across the province.

The decision was taken during a high-level meeting chaired by Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat. Officials reviewed the progress of existing Safe City projects and discussed ways to accelerate their completion.

According to briefings given at the meeting, state-of-the-art surveillance cameras will be installed in key urban areas as part of the initiative. The system is designed to monitor public spaces, assist police operations and help authorities respond faster to emergencies.

The chief minister directed departments concerned to remove all administrative, technical and financial hurdles without delay. He assured officials that funds and technical support would be provided on a priority basis so that the project completes on time.

CM Bugti noted that after Punjab, Balochistan will be the second province to introduce a modern Safe City system. He described the initiative as a major step forward and a milestone for the province’s governance and security framework.
