NBA star Kevin Durant allegedly caught taking digs at teammates from burner account as chats leak

Screenshots circulating online appear to show messages aimed at Jabari Smith Jr., Devin Booker, Kyrie Irving and more

Kevin Durant is facing renewed scrutiny after social media users alleged that a recently exposed account on X is linked to the NBA star.

The account, operating under the handle @gethigher77 on X, has been accused of posting critical comments about both current and former teammates. Screenshots circulating online appear to show messages in which the user questions the abilities of Jabari Smith Jr. and Alperen Sengun of the Houston Rockets.

In the leaked texts, the account allegedly describes Sengun as a franchise player who “can’t shoot or defend” and claims Smith Jr. cannot be trusted “to make a shot or get a stop”. Additional screenshots suggest remarks aimed at former teammates, including Devin Booker of the Phoenix Suns and Kyrie Irving, who previously played alongside Durant at the Brooklyn Nets. In Booker’s case, the posts allegedly compared him to a dictator, while Irving was accused of behaving as though he were owed something.

None of the claims have been verified, and there is no confirmation that the account belongs to Durant. The player has previously acknowledged using burner accounts earlier in his career, but he is also known for responding directly to fans from his verified profile.

Reaction online has been divided. “To anybody that actually believes this, ima pray for you,” one user wrote. Another added: “Don’t really buy this, KD replies to randoms on his main account most days of the week. He’s the one athlete who would least need a burner account.”

Others appeared more convinced, with one post reading: “Not the unredacted KD files dropping on All Star weekend,” while another stated: “He’s really a team cancer this is crazy.”

Without substantiated evidence, the authenticity of the account remains uncertain.
