Savannah Guthrie and her family have released a new public appeal for the safe return of her mother, Nancy Guthrie, who disappeared from her home in Tucson, Arizona, last weekend.

In a video posted to Instagram on Saturday evening, the US news anchor appeared alongside her two siblings and addressed the individuals believed to be responsible for her mother’s disappearance. “We received your message, and we understand,” Guthrie said. “We beg you now to return our mother to us so that we can celebrate with her.”

She added, “This is the only way we will have peace. This is very valuable to us. And we will pay.” The family did not provide details about the message referenced in the video.

Authorities believe Nancy Guthrie was taken against her will during the night. She was reported missing after members of her church became concerned when she failed to attend Sunday services. Investigators say a doorbell camera at her home was disconnected and removed early on Sunday morning, and at approximately 02:28 local time, the app linked to her pacemaker was disconnected from her phone.

Earlier this week, officials said no suspect or person of interest had been identified. A reward of $50,000 is being offered for information. FBI Special Agent Heith Janke confirmed the bureau is examining a potential ransom note sent to several media organisations, describing it as containing specific facts, a deadline and a monetary demand.

The family has previously released two videos asking for proof that Nancy Guthrie is alive. In one message, her son Camron Guthrie said, “We have to know that you have our mum. We want to talk to you.” Authorities later arrested one individual in connection with a fake ransom note.

Law enforcement has warned that Nancy Guthrie may be at serious risk without her medication. “She is without any medicine,” Savannah Guthrie said previously. “She needs it to survive. She needs it not to suffer.”

Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos said investigators are working on the assumption that she is still alive, adding, “Right now, we believe Nancy is still out there. We want her home.”
