Progress of Qila Kona Qasim Bagh beautification reviewed
LAHORE – The Walled City of Lahore Authority (WCLA) Director General Najmu Saqib and Commissioner Multan on Thursday reviewed progress of Qila Kona Qasim Bagh project. According to WCLA sources here, officials thoroughly assessed the progress of the project and discussed various aspects related to beautification measures, additional development works and the shifting or demolition of extra and encroaching structures within the premises of Qila Kona Qasim Bagh. Suggestions were also pointed out to further enhance the overall aesthetic, functionality and heritage value of the site. The WCLA DG briefed the participants on the project’s scope, objectives and current progress, highlighting the steps being taken to ensure timely completion in accordance with approved standards and conservation principles. Najmu Saqib stated “Qila Kona Qasim Bagh is an important heritage and public space and its development is being carried out in line with the vision of the Punjab government. Our focus is not only on physical restoration and beautification, but also on improving visitor experience while ensuring the protection of the site’s historical and cultural significance.
All proposed works are being planned carefully to meet both conservation requirements and modern urban needs.”
The review meeting reaffirmed the commitment of WCLA and the district administration to implement the project efficiently and in coordination with all relevant stakeholders.
