148th Urs of Hazrat Khwaja Ziauddin Chinioti begins with spiritual grandeur
CHINIOT – The 148th annual Urs of the revered Sufi saint Hazrat Khwaja Ziauddin Chinioti (RA) began with profound devotion, reverence, and spiritual fervor, drawing a large number of disciples, devotees, and pilgrims from across the region to the historic shrine. The inaugural ceremony on Thursday commenced with the ritual ghusl of the Darbar performed by the Sajjada Nashin of Darbar Hazrat Khwaja Nazir Ali Chiniot, followed by soulful recitation of the Holy Quran and Fateha. The shrine echoed with prayers and supplications as devotees paid homage to the great saint, creating an atmosphere imbued with deep spirituality and tranquility. Throughout the day, gatherings of Zikr, Durood and Salam were held, while a series of religious and spiritual programs have been arranged in connection with the Urs. These include Naat gatherings, enlightening addresses by renowned scholars and Mashaikhs, and special collective prayers aimed at spiritual uplift and moral guidance. A night-long Mehfil held at the palace attracted a huge gathering, where Sufi hymns captivated participants and offered moments of spiritual solace. According to the organizers, the Urs aims to highlight the invaluable religious and spiritual services of Hazrat Khwaja Ziauddin Chinioti (RA) and to propagate the timeless Sufi message of peace, love, tolerance, and selfless service to humanity.
Special arrangements for langar have also been made, ensuring the distribution of blessed food among pilgrims. The Urs will conclude with special prayers for national peace, security, prosperity, and the unity and solidarity of the Muslim Ummah.
