Development works at Lahore Arts Council reviewed
LAHORE – Development work at the Lahore Arts Council Alhamra is progressing steadily under the Chief Minister’s Punjab Initiative Program. In this regard, a comprehensive briefing was given to Alhamra Executive Director Muhammad Nawaz Gondal on the work completed so far and the overall progress of the ongoing projects, here on Monday. The briefing covered the current status of development works, technical standards, pace of execution, and overall performance. Renowned architect Nayyar Ali Dada was also present on the occasion, underscoring the importance of maintaining architectural integrity and design excellence throughout the development process. During the briefing, the executive director was informed that renovation and uplift works are underway in various halls, galleries, and facilities at Alhamra. These include infrastructure upgradation and improvements to the sewage system, aimed at aligning the institution with modern requirements and ensuring enhanced facilities for artists and the general public.
Following the briefing, Executive Director Nawaz Gondal issued clear directions, emphasizing that all development works must be completed strictly in accordance with approved designs, technical specifications, and prescribed quality standards. He categorically stated that no compromise on quality would be tolerated at any stage of the project.
The executive director said that the timely completion of development works, coupled with transparent monitoring, is a vital component of Alhamra’s vision to emerge as a modern, safe, and fully functional cultural institution, capable of meeting the expectations of artists and the public alike.
