Modi Blocks X Account of ‘CJP’ Over Anti-Monopoly Demands
India’s government is actively restricting online political expression. Today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s administration blocked the official X account of the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP). This youth-led political movement is rapidly gaining traction across the country. According to recent reports, the group now faces intense pressure and coordinated online restrictions.
CJP Taking on Media Monopolies
The Gen-Z movement is aggressively targeting large business conglomerates. Specifically, the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) demands the immediate cancellation of media licenses held by massive corporate groups. These targeted organizations include prominent industrial giants like Adani and Ambani. Consequently, the group has sparked a fierce debate over media independence and corporate control in India.
Furthermore, the CJP absolutely refuses to engage with traditional news outlets. The movement’s founder stated that dialogue with the mainstream Indian media is completely meaningless. He claims these established organizations repeatedly label the youth group as extremists. Therefore, the founder believes any further engagement would be pointless. Meanwhile, the movement faces coordinated and widespread criticism from various sections of the Indian media.
Gen-Z Rejects Traditional Politics
Clearly, a massive divide is growing between young citizens and established institutions. Observers note that the rise of the CJP reflects deep dissatisfaction among Gen-Z voters. Traditional political structures are simply struggling to meet their modern expectations. Moreover, a journalist cited in an Al Jazeera report highlighted a troubling trend. Over the past few years, sections of the Indian media have increasingly aligned themselves with the government. Instead of acting as independent voices, these outlets now frequently label government critics as anti-national.
