Prince Harry urged to step down from his charity in Africa

LONDON  –  Prince Harry is being urged to step down from his Africa charity. The Duke of Sussex is said to be under fire following shocking claims about African Parks’ wrongdoings. An indigenous rights charity, Survival International has reportedly alleged wrongdoing by African Parks.

They previously accused the charity of human rights abuses against the Baka community in Odzala-Kokoua National Park by eco-guards. This lead to an independent investigation by law firm Omnia Strategy. However, African Parks acknowledged the wrongdoings in May 2025, noting that “in some incidents, human rights abuses have occurred.” Adding that they “deeply regret the pain and suffering caused to the victims.”  Now, Survival International claimed that “the problems on the ground have not been solved,” according to The Times. The outlet noted that the organization criticized Prince Harry for attending a fundraising event in Arizona this week with the aim to raise $1billion. Notably, the leader of the Baka community told the charity, “We don’t work with them. The way African Parks treat us here is violent.”  Furthermore, Caroline Pearce, the director of Survival International, shared, “It is outrageous to see Harry’s continued support to African Parks despite the horrific human rights abuses committed by its rangers against the Baka.”  It is pertinent to mention that Prince Harry, the Duke of Sussex share close bond with Africa. In 2015, he served as part of African Parks’ team to help implement the first phase of the 500 Elephants project.
