A$AP Rocky faces plagiarism accusations over ‘Shroom Clouds’ music video

The credits also name several AI artists, prompting questions from viewers about how the technology was used

A$AP Rocky has faced online criticism after social media users accused him of copying another video for his “Shroom Clouds” music visual, sparking debate over the use of artificial intelligence in music production.

The allegations began circulating on Reddit over the weekend, days after the video premiered on October 19, 2026.

The track features reggie and Jeremih and forms part of Rocky’s Don’t Be Dumb Disc 2 release.

The video credits Rocky alongside directors Aisulton Seitov and Pietro Biz Biasia, with North of Now and Partizan listed as production companies.

The credits also name several AI artists, including Spike and Red and Ces, prompting questions from viewers about how the technology was used.

One Reddit user criticised the decision, writing, “He has such a clear and interesting creative vision, has good taste in collaborators and spends real effort on these,” before adding, “It’s crazy how much a little bit of AI can ruin a video. All the obvious AI special effects were bad enough.”

The controversy follows an interview with Complex in which Rocky discussed his preference for practical creative methods while acknowledging differing approaches to AI-generated work.

His comments have since been cited by critics questioning the video’s production choices.
