ISLAMABAD  –  An exhibition showcasing the calligraphic artwork of renowned calligrapher Wasal Shahid was held at Parliament House to commemorate the 1501st birth anniversary of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).  Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq inaugurated the exhibition at Parliament House. Renowned calligrapher Wasal Shahid briefed Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq about the calligraphic artworks displayed at the exhibition and highlighted artistic and spiritual dimensions. Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq said that the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)  is a source of mercy and guidance for the entire humanity. He said that events centred on the Seerat-un-Nabi renew faith and provide spiritual inspiration to the people. The Speaker said that the calligraphy exhibition based on the Seerat-un-Nabi would serve as a beacon of guidance for the younger generation. He added that spiritual and intellectual activities play an important role in strengthening unity, brotherhood and solidarity among the Muslim Ummah. The participants appreciated the calligraphy exhibition as an excellent initiative to highlight various aspects of the blessed life and teachings of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). They also lauded the efforts of the organisers in arranging the exhibition. Ambassadors of Islamic countries, Federal Ministers Khawaja Muhammad Asif and Khalid Hussain Magsi, Members of the National Assembly and representatives of the media attended the inaugural ceremony. Representatives from different schools of thought and officers of the National Assembly Secretariat were also present on the occasion.
