Marvel ignores calls to sue White House over Spider-Man propaganda

LOS ANGELES – A large number of people have urged Marvel to sue the White House for using Spider-Man for propaganda. Fans expressed outrage after the White House’s Instagram account recently shared a post featuring Spider-Man as an ICE agent. The first photo in the White House’s carousel post shows a web slinging out of Spider-Man’s hand. The next two only show the web, before the last picture features a line of people caught in the web. “Criminal illegal aliens will be caught and deported,” reads the text on the last photo. The post was shared with the caption: “Your friendly neighborhood ICE agents.” Commenting on the post a user wrote, “They need to sue you for this.” Mentioning Marvel in the comments, one user wrote, “Please sue the s*** out of them.” “This is unacceptable. sue please,” wrote another. Most of the superhero fans lashed out at the White House and the Trump administration, saying Spider-Man will never support the post. However, Marvel Studios has not commented on the White House’s use of Spider-Man. It came days after the latest Spider-Man movie set an all-time record at the US and Canadian movie box.
