World-class facilities to be provided to pilgrims during Data Sahib’s annual Urs: Dr Bhutta

LAHORE  –  Millions of devotees and spiritual followers from Lahore, across Pakistan, and various countries abroad visit the shrine of Hazrat Data Ganj Bakhsh (Hazrat Ali Hajveri) every year to participate in the Annual Urs and pay homage to the revered saint. The Annual Urs is not merely a religious congregation but a profoundly sacred spiritual occasion that demands flawless administrative planning, exemplary civic coordination, and the provision of world-class facilities for the pilgrims,” stated Secretary/Chief Administrator Auqaf Punjab, Dr Ehsan Bhutta, while undertaking a comprehensive inspection of the revered Data Darbar shrine ahead of the forthcoming Urs celebrations. Accompanied by a high-level delegation comprising ADC Kashif Jaleel, AC Rana Amir, Administrator Data Darbar Muhammad Ali Khan, and senior officials from municipal, police, traffic, and utility departments, Dr Ehsan Bhutta conducted an extensive review of all logistical, security, and infrastructural arrangements. During the visit, the delegation toured all major sites and entry gates surrounding the shrine to inspect parking facilities, public access points, arrangements for Sabeels and Langar distribution, and other essential amenities being established for the convenience of devotees. Officials also meticulously examined crowd-management strategies, traffic diversion plans, designated parking areas, and the arrangements for Samaa gatherings to ensure the comfort, safety, and smooth movement of pilgrims arriving from different parts of the country and abroad. Senior officials further reviewed the ongoing development works around the shrine complex, including the construction of concrete slabs and other civic upgrades aimed at enhancing accessibility and facilitating the uninterrupted flow of visitors during the Urs festivities. Emphasising the importance of seamless inter-departmental coordination and uninterrupted public services, Dr Ehsan Bhutta directed all concerned agencies to maintain the highest standards of preparedness, vigilance, and administrative efficiency throughout the celebrations. Concluding the detailed visit, he, along with the accompanying officials, offered Fateha and special prayers at the shrine for the peace, stability, and continued prosperity of Pakistan.
