Shaniera pays tribute as Wasim Akram turns 60

Former Pakistan captain and legendary fast bowler Wasim Akram celebrated his 60th birthday on Wednesday, receiving an outpouring of love and tributes from family, friends and fans.
Marking the occasion, his wife Shaniera Akram shared a series of family photographs on Instagram, describing him as a devoted husband, father and one of the greatest cricketers of all time.
“Happy 60th birthday to the Greatest of all time! Greatest father, husband, friend, proud Pakistani, devoted family man and of course also a pretty great cricketer,” she wrote in a post dedicated to the former Pakistan skipper.
The post was met with thousands of birthday wishes from fans, who flooded the comments section with messages celebrating the cricketing icon’s achievements and legacy.
In a separate message, Shaniera acknowledged birthday greetings from Indian fans who were reportedly unable to send their wishes directly due to temporary restrictions on Wasim Akram’s social media account. She conveyed his gratitude for the support and affection he has received from fans across the border over the years.
Wasim Akram and Shaniera first met in Melbourne in 2011 and were married in Lahore in 2013. The couple have a daughter together. Akram is also the father of two sons from his previous marriage.
Widely regarded as one of the finest fast bowlers in cricket history, Akram remains one of Pakistan’s most celebrated sporting figures.
