WhatsApp Experiments With Notification Bubbles Feature to Speed Up Replies
WhatsApp is working on another feature aimed at improving everyday chats. The company is now testing notification bubbles for both Android and iOS users. This feature is not entirely new, as Android 10 already supports it. Still, bringing it to WhatsApp could change how people reply to messages while using other apps.
The update was first spotted by WABetaInfo, which found early signs of notification bubbles inside the Android app. Users familiar with Facebook Messenger on Android will recognize how this system works.
When a new message arrives, either from a personal chat or a group, a small floating bubble appears on the screen. This bubble stays visible even when you are on the home screen or using a third-party app. As a result, users can stay connected without switching apps again and again.
The bubble itself shows the profile picture of the contact or group. It also includes a small WhatsApp icon, making it clear where the message came from. This simple design helps users quickly identify incoming chats.
Once you tap the bubble, a compact chat window opens. From there, you can read and reply to messages without launching the full app. This makes conversations faster and smoother, especially during busy tasks.
In addition, notification bubbles make multitasking easier. For example, you can watch a video and reply to different chats at the same time. You do not need to leave the video app or open WhatsApp separately. This saves time and keeps the experience uninterrupted.
For now, WhatsApp is still testing this feature. The company has not shared an official release date yet. However, like most updates, it will likely reach beta users first before a wider rollout to all Android users.
