Hollywood actor Anne Hathaway was presented with a copy of the Holy Quran by a fan during a promotional event for her upcoming film The Devil Wears Prada 2, following widespread attention to her recent use of the phrase “Inshallah” in an interview.
The 43-year-old Oscar-winning actor attended the London premiere of the film, marking her return to the screen alongside Meryl Streep. During the red-carpet event, a fan approached Hathaway and handed her the religious text, which she accepted with a smile, thanking the individual for the gesture.

Hathaway had earlier drawn attention during an interview with People magazine, where she used the Arabic phrase “Inshallah” — meaning “God willing” — while speaking about her hopes for the future. “I want to have a long, healthy life, Inshallah. I hope so,” she had said.
The remark resonated with many users online, prompting a wave of reactions. Several praised the actor for her composed and respectful response to the fan’s gesture, describing the interaction as thoughtful and wholesome.
