PSL 2026 Thrilling Encounter Sets Rare T20 Record


Multan Sultans versus Karachi Kings in PSL 11 produced 403 combined runs, marking the first T20 match in history without an individual half-century contribution.

This unprecedented occurrence came after 6,651 completed T20 matches, establishing a new statistical milestone in the evolving record books of the shortest format.

Multan Sultans posted 207 runs in their first innings, Karachi Kings responded with 196, yet no batter reached fifty, making the rarity of this high-scoring contest.

The thrilling finish match entered cricket history as the first instance of 400-plus aggregate runs without a single half-century across both competing sides.

Talking about the game, Multan Sultans defeated Karachi Kings by 11 runs, securing their fifth victory of the season in a high-scoring contest at National Bank Stadium.

Batting first, Multan Sultans posted 207 for seven, with Shan Masood scoring 46 and Josh Philippe contributing 44, supported by late runs from Mohammad Imran.

The David Warner-led Karachi Kings replied with 196 all out in 19.4 overs, despite Reeza Hendricks scoring 49 and Moeen Ali adding 27 during their chase.

Arafat Minhas starred with the ball, claiming three wickets, while Peter Siddle picked two, ensuring Multan’s disciplined bowling attack successfully defended the 208-run target.

Karachi’s innings faltered after early dismissals of Jason Roy and Salman Ali Agha, leaving the side struggling at 41 for two inside five overs.

Reeza Hendricks and Moeen Ali steadied the chase with a 67-run stand, but Hendricks fell short of a half-century, dismissed for 49 by Mohammad Imran.

Abbas Afridi fought hard with a quick 34 off 16 balls, but Peter Siddle’s breakthrough ended Karachi’s hopes of reaching the challenging target.

Khushdil Shah impressed for Karachi with three wickets, Moeen Ali claimed two, while Adam Zampa and Hasan Ali contributed one wicket each in the match.
