Ufone Users May Face Service Disruptions as Load Shedding Strains Network

Ufone customers across Pakistan may face service interruptions as the ongoing electricity load shedding continues nationwide. The frequent and long power cuts are putting pressure on telecom networks. As a result, maintaining stable mobile services has become increasingly difficult in many areas.

Power outages, often lasting eight hours or more, are disrupting the normal operation of telecom infrastructure. This extended downtime is affecting the sector’s ability to provide uninterrupted connectivity. Consequently, users may notice weaker signals or temporary service drops during peak outage periods.

Most urban telecom sites rely on backup battery systems to keep networks running during electricity failures. However, these systems need steady electricity for at least three to four hours to fully recharge. With repeated outages, these charging cycles are getting interrupted. This reduces the available backup capacity at cell sites.

Because of this situation, network performance is directly linked to the stability of the power supply. When electricity returns regularly, systems recover and recharge as expected. Once the power situation improves, services are expected to return to normal levels across affected areas.
