Will Prime Video renew or cancel ‘The Boys’ spin-off?

The fate of ‘Gen V’ Season 3 remains undecided as creator Eric Kripke speaks about renewal decision

The future of Gen V Season 3 remains uncertain as Prime Video has yet to confirm whether the series will be renewed or cancelled.

Six months after the second season concluded in October 2025, there has been no official update from the streaming platform, leaving the show’s status unresolved.

The lack of confirmation has prompted concern among viewers following the storyline of Marie Moreau and other central characters.

Creator Eric Kripke addressed the situation in a recent interview, indicating that no decision has been communicated. “We’re still waiting to hear. The answer is there’s no real update at the moment. Sometimes it takes them a while to make a decision, and we haven’t heard a no, but we haven’t heard a yes either.”

Industry observers suggest the delay may be linked to the release of The Boys season 5, which premiered on April 8, 2026.

As the flagship series approaches its conclusion, attention appears to be focused on its performance before further investment decisions are made regarding spin-off projects.

Reports indicate that, if renewed, a third season of Gen V could follow the production pattern of previous instalments, potentially arriving between 2027 and 2028. However, this timeline remains speculative without official confirmation.

The expected returning cast includes Jaz Sinclair, Lizze Broadway, Maddie Phillips and London Thor, with the narrative likely to continue the resistance against Homelander established in season 2. The storyline is also expected to remain connected to developments in The Boys, depending on its final season.

For now, the future of Gen V remains undecided as audiences await further updates from Prime Video.
