NCERT Launches Last Round of Consultation on Cybersecurity Rules

The National Cyber Emergency Response Team (NCERT) has launched a final stakeholder consultation on the revised Pakistan Information Security Framework 2025, marking the last stage before its submission for government approval.

The updated framework, referred to as PISF 2025, has been released for final review, with NCERT inviting feedback from public and private sector organizations, industry professionals, and academic institutions.

According to officials, the revised version reflects input gathered during earlier consultations. NCERT received 273 detailed comments from federal ministries, attached departments, private sector entities, universities, and independent cybersecurity experts, which were reviewed and incorporated where relevant.

Stakeholders have now been asked to submit any additional comments or observations on the revised framework by February 6, 2026. Officials said continued engagement at this stage is aimed at ensuring the framework addresses practical requirements and reflects broad stakeholder consensus.

Following the conclusion of the consultation process, the final version of PISF 2025 is expected to be submitted to the Government of Pakistan by February 13, 2026 for approval.

NCERT stated that the revised framework is intended to provide a more structured and consistent approach to safeguarding digital infrastructure and managing cyber risks across the country.
