A live broadcast ahead of a major space mission drew widespread attention after a child’s unexpected response during an on-air interview quickly went viral across social media platforms.

The moment occurred outside the Kennedy Space Center as crowds gathered to witness the launch of NASA’s Artemis II mission. A CNN reporter approached a young spectator wearing a NASA cap and asked why he wanted to be present for the historic occasion.

“Why do you want to be here?” the reporter asked. “Why do you love being a part of history?” The child responded without hesitation, saying, “We’re going back to the f**king moon, that’s why!”

The clip was widely shared online, rapidly gaining traction and drawing mixed reactions from viewers. While some expressed surprise at the language used during a live broadcast, others found the response humorous and reflective of public excitement surrounding the mission.

The Artemis II mission marks a significant milestone for space exploration, representing the first crewed journey to the moon’s vicinity since 1972. The crew includes NASA astronauts Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover and Christina Koch, alongside Canadian Space Agency astronaut Jeremy Hansen. Although the mission will not involve a lunar landing, it is designed to test critical systems required for deep-space travel.
