Kid Rock has addressed accusations that he lip-synced during his performance at Turning Point USA’s All-American Halftime Show, attributing the issue to technical difficulties.

The musician responded to the claims during an appearance on Fox News’ The Ingraham Angle on February 10, where he spoke with host Laura Ingraham about the controversy surrounding his rendition of “Bawitdaba” from the album Devil Without a Cause.

“It was out of sync,” Kid Rock said. “Actually, just to have some fun with the haters. I can’t answer all the trolls, but it’s going to be some fun. My DJ, who actually raps that song with me, he was not lit up.”

He added that he intended to demonstrate the performance live to address criticism directly. “He’s coming to Nashville tonight, flying in. We’re going to do that live in my living room, and I’m going to post it tomorrow to show people exactly how this works.” He continued, “It would’ve been super easy to sync it up if it was prerecorded.”

Kid Rock suggested that his stage movement may have contributed to the perceived mismatch between audio and visuals. “I’m jumping around the stage like a rabid monkey, rapping my song, and I’m taking breaths, and my DJ is filling in the other parts of it… I even told them when I saw the rough cut, I was like, ‘You guys got to work on that sync. It’s off,’” he said.

He concluded, “It was just a syncing issue that they had, and I know they tried to get it right. It was very difficult.”

Kid Rock headlined the TPUSA event, organised as an alternative to the 2026 Apple Music Super Bowl LX Halftime Show, which will feature Bad Bunny as the NFL’s official headliner.
