Islamabad lawyers have been granted a major relief as the Islamabad High Court Bar Association (IHCBA) announced a health card scheme providing free medical treatment worth up to PKR 1 million. The initiative covers registered lawyers along with their families, marking a significant step toward legal professionals’ welfare in the federal capital.

The health cards will be issued from February 10, 2026, allowing Islamabad High Court Bar members, their spouses, children, and parents to receive medical treatment at leading hospitals in Islamabad and Rawalpindi. The scheme ensures access to quality healthcare without financial burden.

The initiative was led by IHCBA President Syed Wajid Gilani and Secretary Chaudhry Manzoor Jajja, with crucial support from Federal Law Minister Azam Nazir Tarar. Over the past year, the current bar cabinet has introduced several welfare-focused measures, with the health card scheme being one of the most impactful.

“This health card initiative reflects our commitment to safeguarding the well-being of lawyers and their families,” a bar official stated, acknowledging the collective efforts behind the program.
