BEIJING  –  An exhibition celebrating cultural heritage and long-standing ties between Pakistan and China opened in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (SAR), Gwadar Pro reported. Titled “A Pictorial Depiction of History, Heritage and Diversity of Pakistan,” the showcase presents 80 original collages offering a chronological visual journey through Pakistan’s history, landscapes, arts, languages, and the diversity of its people. 

The exhibition is part of a series of activities marking the 75th anniversary year of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and China.  

It highlights cultural connections between the two countries and presents Pakistan as a layered and evolving civilization. 

Khalil Hashmi, Pakistan’s Ambassador to China, inaugurated the exhibition. Speaking at the event, Hashmi underscored the durability of Pakistan-China relations and noted that the anniversary-year commemorations were launched earlier this month in Beijing with the unveiling of a 75th-anniversary logo by Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar alongside China’s Foreign Minister Wang Yi. Hashmi said the collages span themes including Pakistan’s ancient roots, the freedom movement, geography and landscapes, historic monuments, religious architecture, arts and sciences, sports, languages, and cultural diversity. He also pointed to cultural convergences between Pakistan and China, including shared heritage such as Gandhara art, according to Gwadar Pro.
