First Supermoon of the year 2026 will be visible today
LAHORE – The first Supermoon of the new year is about to appear soon, the full moon will rise on the third of January (today) and will appear unusually large in the sky. This will be the last in a series of Supermoons seen in recent months, which began last October. According to scientists, a Supermoon appears when the moon comes closer to the Earth than its normal distance. Due to this proximity, the moon can appear about 14 percent larger and 30 percent brighter than usual. According to experts, the full phase of the January moon will be at around 3 pm on Saturday, however, it will also be visible prominently in the sky as a large and bright ball the night before. This January moon is also known by various names, including Wolf Moon, Cold Moon, and Hard Moon.
Although these names are considered traditional, the truth is that most of these names have become more popular in recent years.
