Paintings exhibition and art competition begins at Coopera Art Gallery

LAHORE – A grand paintings and art competition exhibition kicked off at Coopera Art Gallery on Friday to commemorate Pakistan Independence Day bringing together young and senior artists under one roof. About sixty brilliant and colourful artworks were hung on the walls of the oldest and famous Gallery by forty eight artists showing creativity, patriotism and love for Pakistan. It appeared that a great opportunity was provided to the artists to express love for their homeland reflecting its history, heritage and national identity through visual art. Prof Dr Murtaza Jafri, Vice Chancellor, NCA inaugurated the exhibition. He said, this exhibition showed very interesting and diverse artistic patriotic themes interpreting celebration of Independence Day consisting high national spirits. He also praised the efforts of both artists and Coopera Art Gallery to organise such a big show. Dr Jafri also mentioned that a prestigious medals and certificates awarding ceremony would be held on Sunday August 18, 2026 at 4.00 PM at Coopera Art Gallery.
Large numbers of artists, art lovers and students were present at the inaugural ceremony holding Pakistan’s flags and were taking keen interest in exhibition, which will continue until August 18, 2026 from 10.30 AM to 6.00 PM daily.
