The Karachi Traffic Police has announced the establishment of a dedicated Road Safety Officer Unit aimed at improving road safety, enhancing traffic management, and providing better assistance to motorists across the city.

According to officials, Road Safety Officers will be deployed on key traffic corridors, including Shahrah-e-Faisal, Mauripur Road, Korangi Road, and Shahrah-e-Liaquat, to support smoother traffic flow and assist commuters during peak travel hours.

The initiative is part of broader efforts to strengthen traffic management and improve the overall commuting experience for residents in Pakistan’s largest city.

Officials said the newly appointed officers will guide motorists on alternative routes, provide real-time travel information, and assist drivers facing difficulties on major roads. The unit will also play a role in minimizing congestion and improving coordination during traffic disruptions.

A spokesperson for the traffic police stated that the program is designed to create a safer road environment while promoting stronger engagement between traffic authorities and the public.
