Former Bricks and Minifigs franchise owner Chrystal Gorman has expanded on allegations surrounding a disputed Star Wars Lego collection reportedly worth more than $200,000, claiming corporate executives seized her Oregon store and acknowledged taking over the consignment arrangement at the centre of the ongoing legal battle.

In a video published on May 29, Gorman and Benjamin Gorman said they purchased the Salem-Keizer franchise in February 2023 and initially believed “everything was going really well”.

However, Gorman alleged problems emerged between the franchise owners and Bricks and Minifigs North America, commonly known as BAM.

“Our LEGO franchise and our life savings, along with a giant collection inside the store, which was owned by Brian Mansell’s father, was taken by Bricks and Minifigs,” Gorman said in the video, which follows investigative coverage by YouTuber Reckless Ben.

The disputed collection reportedly belonged to Bryan Mansell’s family and had been placed on consignment at the store.

Gorman claimed BAM executives later threatened police involvement before taking control of the premises and the collection. “They said they understood there was a large collection on consignment and acknowledged they were taking that over,” she said.

The former franchise owner also accused BAM of dragging out legal negotiations and making contradictory claims about ownership of the business and the consignment agreement. Gorman further alleged that franchise documents explicitly permitted consignment services.

Separate online discussions, including posts shared on Reddit, have also focused on links between several individuals involved in the dispute and legal asset protection company LegallyMine. These claims remain unverified and have not been independently confirmed.

Bricks and Minifigs has denied wrongdoing and previously stated it does not “participate in the exploitation of anyone, especially older adults”.

Meanwhile, Gorman has urged supporters not to harass current employees and started a GoFundMe for help in covering the “overwhelming legal costs required to fight this battle”.
