The Bricks and Minifigs Lego controversy has intensified following claims by YouTuber Reckless Ben that he and members of his team were arrested during an ongoing dispute involving a consigned Stars Wars Lego collection reportedly worth over $200,000, according to updates shared on Patreon.

The case centres on a co-sign agreement made in 2023 between Bryan Mansell’s family and a Bricks and Minifigs franchise in Salem-Keizer, Oregon, allowing the store to sell individual Lego sets while the family retained ownership and received a commission from sales.

The agreement later came under dispute after the franchise ownership changed in 2024, with the company describing it as “unauthorized”.

Online criticism has since turned towards Ammon McNeff, CEO of Bricks and Minifigs North America, who has been tagged on social media by users questioning the company’s handling of the situation.

McNeff has held the CEO role for several years and has previously worked in business and technology roles, according to professional profiles and company statements.

Reckless Ben has been documenting the dispute through a series of investigative videos.

In a recent Patreon update, he claimed attempts to pursue legal action were initially rejected due to procedural requirements, including a failure to demonstrate a “good faith effort” to resolve the matter beforehand.

The content creator also alleged encounters with law enforcement during efforts to engage with franchise representatives, stating that police were called during visits to corporate and private locations. These claims remain part of an ongoing dispute and have not been independently verified.

According to Ben’s account, subsequent legal filings against individuals linked to the franchise were later accepted by the court, while tensions between involved parties continued to escalate. 

Meanwhile, a GoFundMe campaign launched by the YouTuber for the Mansell family has raised more than $10,000 as a legal dispute continues to attract widespread attention online.
