Mobile phone assembly sector in Pakistan recorded its most competitive quarter on record, with 10 brands producing a combined total of millions of handsets between January and March 2026.

VGO TEL topped the production table with 1.12 million locally assembled handsets, becoming the single largest mobile phone manufacturer in Pakistan during the first quarter of 2026.

Official industry data confirmed that Infinix ranked second, assembling 0.75 million units, while Vivo produced 0.56 million handsets across its Pakistan-based manufacturing operations.

Samsung, one of the world’s most recognised mobile brands, manufactured 0.52 million units in Pakistan, followed closely by Itel, which assembled 0.50 million devices in the same quarter.

Mid-Tier and Smaller Producers

TECNO assembled 0.44 million units during the January-to-March period, while Nokia, a veteran brand in Pakistan’s market, manufactured 0.40 million handsets in the same quarter of 2026.

X Mobile assembled 0.35 million devices, OPPO produced 0.29 million units, and Realme manufactured 0.27 million handsets, completing the ten-brand breakdown of Pakistan’s Q1 2026 production data.

Shifting Market Dynamics

The data reflects a broader shift in Pakistan’s handset industry, where Chinese brands and locally partnered manufacturers have significantly expanded their domestic assembly operations throughout recent years.

Government policies encouraging import substitution and domestic production have contributed to the growth of local assembly lines, reducing dependence on fully imported mobile devices entering Pakistan’s retail market.

Several established global brands, including Samsung and OPPO, recorded comparatively lower output figures, as newer market entrants offering more affordable devices gained stronger footholds in Pakistan’s price-sensitive segment.
