Govt Announces Major Hike in Petrol and Diesel Prices
The federal government announced on Friday a fuel price increase, raising petrol by Rs14.92 per litre and high‑speed diesel (HSD) by Rs15 per litre.
Following the adjustment, petrol now costs Rs414.78 per litre, while high‑speed diesel stands at Rs414.58 per litre, reflecting the latest official pricing update.
The Petroleum Division issued a press release on Friday confirming the revised rates, stating that the new prices will officially take effect from May 9.

High‑speed diesel is mainly used in heavy transport vehicles and large generators, making it a critical component for freight movement and industrial power generation.
