Kyrgyz opera singers perform in Ashgabat

BISHKEK  –  Opera soloists from the A Maldybaev Kyrgyz National Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre, honoured artist of the Kyrgyz Republic Zaira Raimbekova and international competition laureate Ryskeldi Anarkul uulu, successfully performed at the Opera Days of the International Organisation of Turkic Culture (TURKSOY) in Turkmenistan. This was reported by the Ministry of Culture of the Kyrgyz Republic. TURKSOY International Opera Days is an annual cultural festival uniting opera singers from Turkic countries to promote their musical heritage. This year, the 27th gala events in Ashgabat were dedicated to the 110th anniversary of the birth of the outstanding Turkmen composer Veli Mukhadov. As part of the TURKSOY Opera Days, the Mukam Palace became a venue for a unique intercultural dialogue. Leading vocalists from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and Turkey, along with their Turkmen colleagues, presented a “professional showcase” of the best voices on the capital’s stage.

The Kyrgyz vocalists’ concert program on the first and second days featured the finest examples of Turkic vocal classics—compositions by Veli Mukhadov—and masterpieces of world opera—Leonora’s aria from Giuseppe Verdi’s opera “La Forza del Destino” and Gerard’s aria from Umberto Giordano’s opera “Andrea Chénier.”

“Each performance by our artists was accompanied by thunderous applause from the audience and rave reviews from vocal music enthusiasts and professionals,” the ministry emphasised.
