Evelyn Ha speaks out after Ben Pasternak’s arrest in New York assault case

Ha confirms her split with Pasternak after ‘serious boundaries were crossed’ in new YouTube video

Influencer Evelyn Ha has spoken publicly for the first time following the arrest of Australian entrepreneur Ben Pasternak, confirming the end of their relationship and addressing online speculation.

In a recent YouTube video, Ha said, “I’m no longer in a relationship. There’s been serious boundaries that were crossed and I decided to move away from that relationship for the sake of my safety and my well-being.” She added, “it’s still really raw for me to be completely honest.”

Ha explained that she had delayed addressing the situation due to personal circumstances, stating, “there has been a lot going on for me behind the scenes and yeah, I just wanted to clear the speculation that’s been going online.” She also thanked supporters, saying, “I also want to say thank you to everyone that’s been supportive of me, that’s been looking out for me.”

Her comments follow reports that Pasternak, 26, was arrested in New York and charged with one count of strangulation and two counts of assault with intent to cause physical injury. The alleged incident took place on March 31, with the victim widely believed by internet users to be Ha.

Pasternak has pleaded not guilty to all charges and is due to appear before the New York Criminal Court on June 11. A statement cited by the AFR from public relations executive Dini von Mueffling, speaking on his behalf, said, “Ben unilaterally denies the accusation Evelyn Ha has made against him.”

The tech founder, known for establishing food company Simulate, is also facing a civil lawsuit linked to allegations of involvement in a cryptocurrency scheme. Legal filings claim a “co-ordinated campaign” involving multiple tokens, though authorities have not confirmed any connection between the civil and criminal cases.

Ha said she is currently focusing on recovery and spending time with friends and family while processing recent events.
