Digital monitoring of Punjab shrines begins, 8 shrines included in first phase
LAHORE – Digital monitoring has been started to make the monitoring of security and administrative matters of important shrines in Punjab more effective. Provincial Minister for Auqaf Chaudhry Shafay Hussain inaugurated the Command and Control Room established in the Auqaf House and reviewed the digital monitoring system of shrines from there. In the first phase, four shrines each in Lahore and Multan will be connected to the Command and Control Room and digital monitoring will be done, while in the second phase, eight more shrines will be made part of this system. The provincial minister said that digital monitoring of shrines across Punjab will be ensured in a phased manner. Chaudhry Shafay Hussain directed to install modern cameras in the command and control room and connect the shrines to the relevant police stations for digital monitoring. He also directed to provide quality internet facility in the control room. Secretary Auqaf Dr. Ehsan Bhatta, Additional Secretary and DG Religious Affairs were also present on the occasion. The provincial minister said that the process of digitization of the affairs of the Auqaf Department is also underway while all the lands of the Auqaf Department are being brought into digital records. Chaudhary Shafay Hussain clarified that every inch of the Auqaf land will be recovered from illegal occupants.
