FBR Imposes 30 Percent Extra Duty on Commercial Used Vehicle Imports
The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has imposed a 30 percent additional regulatory duty (RD) on the commercial import of used vehicles, effective July 1.
The decision was announced through SRO 1065(l)/2026, issued on Tuesday under sub-section (3) of section 18 of the Customs Act, 1969. The notification supersedes the earlier SRO 1898(l)/2025.
According to details, the regulatory duty applies to used vehicles falling under PCT Headings 8702, 8703 and 8704 of the First Schedule to the Customs Act.
These vehicles are imported under clause (xvi) of S.No.10 of the Table of Appendix-C of the Import Policy Order, 2022, subject to the conditions specified therein.
The FBR clarified that this regulatory duty will be charged in addition to the regulatory duty already levied under SRO 1064(1)/2026, dated June 30, 2026, effectively raising the total duty burden on commercial imports of used vehicles.
