Ariana Grande’s theatre role in question

LONDON – Ariana Grande may not be able to star in a major London West End musical next year. The singer and actress, 32, is set to appear in a revival of Sunday in the Park With George alongside Jonathan Bailey. However, ticket sales for the show have been delayed until autumn, leading to concerns that Ariana’s busy schedule could prevent her from taking part. Reports say producers are now considering backup options in case she has to withdraw from role. A source claimed Ariana is “oversubscribed” because of her packed work schedule. The singer is currently balancing several major commitments, including her music career and acting projects. She recently started her Eternal Sunshine tour in the United States and is also preparing for a new album release. In addition, she is set to release a new album titled Petal on July 31. Ariana is also expected to appear in season 13 of American Horror Story. Despite the concerns, another source said the musical is still going ahead and that delays in ticket sales are due to her touring schedule, not her withdrawal. The production is a revival of Stephen Sondheim’s musical Sunday in the Park With George, directed by Marianne Elliott. Ariana’s role has not yet been officially confirmed, but she is expected to play Dot, the female lead. The story follows the relationship between artist George and his partner Dot, as his obsession with art begins to strain their relationship. Ariana is also scheduled to bring her Eternal Sunshine tour to the UK later this year, with shows planned at London’s O2 Arena. In her personal life, Ariana recently ended her relationship with Ethan Slater after around three years of dating. Reports say the split was amicable.
