Pakistan’s Rs. 10 billion Park Road infrastructure project in Islamabad has achieved significant progress, with authorities confirming that the first phase will be completed next month.

Speaking in the Senate, Minister of State for Interior Muhammad Talal Chaudhry said construction work, which began in March 2026, is moving according to schedule without major delays. The first phase, centered on the Park Road underpass, is expected to be completed in July, while the remaining components of the project are likely to be finished by August.

The large-scale development includes an underpass, service roads, overhead infrastructure, and other road improvements aimed at reducing congestion and improving traffic flow across the federal capital.

According to officials, the project is being executed in partnership with the Defence Housing Authority (DHA) and the Frontier Works Organisation (FWO), which are also contributing to its financing.

Once completed, the upgraded corridor is expected to strengthen connectivity between Park Road, Margalla Avenue, and nearby residential sectors, helping commuters save travel time and fuel costs.

Authorities acknowledged that construction activities have caused temporary inconvenience for motorists but maintained that the long-term benefits would outweigh the short-term disruptions. Environmental assessments were conducted before the project’s launch, and mitigation measures are being implemented to protect green areas during construction.

The Park Road project is among Islamabad’s major infrastructure initiatives aimed at supporting urban growth and easing transportation challenges in the capital.
