Christopher Nolan’s ‘The Odyssey’ launches viral Trojan Horse popcorn bucket with unique design

The design reimagines the Trojan Horse from Greek mythology as a container, replacing hidden soldiers with popcorn

The Odyssey has introduced a Trojan Horse themed popcorn bucket as part of its promotional campaign ahead of the film’s release, drawing attention online for its unusual design.

The reveal follows strong early interest in merchandise tied to the upcoming Christopher Nolan-directed production, with a limited IMAX popcorn bucket previously selling out on its first day of release, reflecting high demand among fans as anticipation for the film continues to grow globally.

Shared via the official account, the design reimagines the Trojan Horse from Greek mythology as a cinema snack container, replacing hidden soldiers with popcorn and prompting light-hearted reactions across social media platforms discussing the film’s creative marketing approach.

The Odyssey is based on Homer’s ancient Greek epic poem and directed and written by Christopher Nolan, with production through Universal Pictures and Syncopy, and an ensemble cast including Matt Damon, Anne Hathaway, Tom Holland, Robert Pattinson, Lupita Nyong’o, Zendaya and Charlize Theron.

Filming took place across Greece, Italy, Morocco, Iceland, Scotland and Los Angeles studio facilities, with the production reportedly utilising IMAX 70mm cameras throughout and development beginning in 2024 before casting continued into 2025 under Universal Pictures.

The film is scheduled for theatrical release on July 17 in IMAX and premium formats.
