BLACKPINK Jisoo’s agency denies family links amid sexual assault scandal, threatens legal action
BLACKPINK member Jisoo’s agency has issued a formal statement denying any connection between the artist and a recent family-related controversy.
The statement, released on April 20 by legal representative Eun Hyun-ho of Kim & Chang Law Offices on behalf of agency BLISSOO, addressed speculation linking Jisoo to allegations involving a family member.
The agency stated, “The matter currently raised is entirely unrelated to the artist and BLISSOO, and the numerous contents circulating online are unverified speculation or clearly false facts.”
The clarification follows reports suggesting that the older brother of a well-known girl group member had been arrested, prompting online speculation identifying Jisoo as connected to the case. BLISSOO firmly rejected these claims and emphasised that the artist has no involvement.
The legal counsel further explained Jisoo’s personal circumstances, stating, “The artist began her trainee life at a young age and became independent early on, living apart from her family for a long period, making it impossible to be aware of or involved in this individual’s private life.”
Addressing rumours about business ties, the agency added, “This individual and the artist established the company together,” and “This individual is an executive or CEO of BLISSOO,” are entirely false, confirming there is no legal or business relationship.
The statement also confirmed, “BLISSOO and the artist are not providing any financial or legal support to this individual, nor do they plan to provide such support in the future. Furthermore, there has been no contact or involvement regarding this matter.”
BLISSOO warned that it would pursue legal action against the spread of misinformation, stating, “We will take a firm stance against malicious or repetitive post authors and disseminators without any leniency or settlement.”
The agency concluded that ongoing speculation constitutes defamation and infringement of rights, and urged the public to avoid sharing unverified claims.
