UK retail sales and consumer spend lag inflation in March but clothing and beauty outperform
Two new sets of figures provided a downbeat view of UK retail on Tuesday as the Barclays consumer spending report and the BRC/KPMG Retail Sales Monitor both came in positive for March but still lagged inflation.
