Fortnite reportedly set to add ‘Italian Brainrot’ skins amid player backlash

The reported update would continue Fortnite’s established pattern of incorporating internet culture into the game

Fortnite is reportedly preparing to introduce Italian Brainrot meme characters as official in-game skins, according to prominent leakers within the community.

On February 24, leaker Shiina posted, “TUNG TUNG TUNG SAHUR FORTNITE SKIN COMING SOON.” Fellow leaker HYPEX added that two additional sources had heard similar information and said he believed the collaboration was imminent. If confirmed, the move would bring AI-generated Italian Brainrot mascots into Epic Games’ battle royale title as locker cosmetics.

The reported update would continue Fortnite’s established pattern of incorporating internet culture into the game.

In December 2024, Epic Games released a Skibidi Toilet collaboration, featuring a Cameraman character with a security camera for a head and a reactive toilet-themed back bling. Chapter 6 Season 2 later introduced Big Dill, a pickle-themed character in a leather jacket and sunglasses. February 2026 also saw the addition of “Stupid Sexy Flanders”, depicting Ned Flanders in a skin-tight outfit wielding a Rocket Launcher.

Reaction to the Brainrot rumours has been sharply divided across social media. One user wrote, “So we are all uninstalling now right…” Another responded, “The lobby isn’t ready for the Italian Brainrot takeover. Bombardino Crocodilo next or we riot.”

Elsewhere, a critic commented, “So many potentially great characters still yet to come to the game but the AI slop mascot is near the top of their priorities?” A supporter countered: “I speak for everyone when I say WE ALL will be buying.”

While Epic Games has not officially confirmed the collaboration, players can already access variants of Brainrot-inspired characters in Fortnite’s Steal the Brainrot mode.
