Ray J sparks concern after ‘bloody’ Valentine’s Day performance while wearing chest patch

The singer appeared on stage with a chest patch and red streak near the eye months after hospitalisation

Ray J has prompted concern among fans after appearing to perform with blood running from his eye and a visible medical dressing on his chest during a Valentine’s Day concert.

The 45-year-old singer took to the stage at “An Intimate Valentine’s Day Concert” in Shreveport, Louisiana on February 14.

Video clips shared on social media showed him wearing sunglasses, with what appeared to be a drop of blood rolling down his cheek. It remains unclear whether the effect was part of the performance or related to a genuine injury.

During the show, Ray J unzipped the top of his jumpsuit, revealing a patch on the upper left side of his chest. Some fans speculated the dressing marked the site of a recent heart monitor or other cardiac device.

The performance follows a recent hospitalisation for pneumonia and heart pain earlier this year. According to TMZ, doctors told him they were unsure how much longer he had to live because of his condition. He was reportedly prescribed eight medications, including Lipitor, Jardiance and Entresto, commonly used to treat or manage heart failure.

Ray J said he was instructed to remain in bed and avoid smoking or drinking. He was also warned that he might require a pacemaker or defibrillator, pending further medical assessment.

In a recent livestream, he told fans he “almost died” during the latest health scare and revealed that his sister, Brandy, helped pay his bills.

He also referenced personal challenges, including a criminal protective order preventing him from seeing his two children with Princess Love. “If I come out of this, I’ll be stronger and a better person,” he told TMZ last month.
