Sujawal hosts stage play Bara Par after five-year hiatus

SUJAWAL – After a gap of five years, the people of Sujawal were treated to a captivating stage performance titled “Bara Par” (Everything Will Ease Up / The Boat Shall Sail Smoothly) at Shayan Lawn on Tuesday night. The play was organised in collaboration with the Culture Department of Sindh and the District Administration Sujawal, marking a significant cultural revival in the area. The story centres around a newly married fisherman who, just two days after his wedding, is compelled to venture into the high seas to repay his family’s debts. Tragically, the boat he boards capsizes during the journey, and he goes missing, eventually presumed dead. The emotional narrative, written by Yaqoob Klahoro and skillfully directed by Nadeem Khatti, kept the audience engaged until the final scene. Prominent actors from Sindh’s entertainment industry, including Nasreen Naz, Urs Narejo, Urs Umrani, Nazeer Lohar, and Gulan Mastana, delivered powerful performances that made the play a memorable experience for the audience. Sujawal Deputy Commissioner (DC) Zahid Rind, alongwith Iqbal Memon, Zubair Jaffrani, and other distinguished guests, attended the opening ceremony. On the occasion, they emphasised the need for more stage dramas in remote areas of Sindh to provide quality entertainment, promote cultural awareness, and nurture local talent.
