OnePlus 13 receives bypass charging and 50MP image editing in latest OxygenOS release
OnePlus is expanding its battery-friendly charging features across more devices. After rolling out bypass charging on the OnePlus 15 last month, the company has now enabled the same function on the OnePlus 13 with the new OxygenOS 16.0.3.501 update.
The update brings more than just charging improvements. It also adds the January 2026 Android security patch and upgrades the Photos app. Users can now edit images up to 50MP without losing image quality.
Bypass charging helps reduce battery stress during heavy use. When you are gaming, live streaming, watching videos, navigating, or running other demanding tasks, the phone can draw power directly from the charger. As a result, it limits heat and slows long-term battery wear.
OxygenOS 16.0.3.501 also improves app organization. The Drawer mode now includes two new categories: Office and Finance. This change makes it easier to find frequently used apps.
Privacy tools have also received attention. Users can now browse, search, and share files inside Private Safe. Access is available through the side slider, which speeds up navigation.
In addition, OnePlus has updated call handling options. A new “Reply with SMS” switch lets users hide the SMS reply option on the incoming call screen. You can find this setting under Contacts, then the three-dot menu, followed by Settings, and Answer/End calls.
The OxygenOS 16.0.3.501 update carries firmware version CPH2649_16.0.3.501(EX01). It is currently rolling out in India to a small group of users. However, a wider release is expected within the next few days.
